“ | I have to protect my Family's sword! Have you ever had that kind of responsibility? | ” |
—Yu Mira, to Jin Mori during her wedding |
Yoo Mira (유미라, Yoo Mira; "Mira Yoo") is one of the three protagonists of The God of High School, and is the 25th Master of the Moon Light Sword Style. She was invited to participate in the God Of High School Tournament.[1]
During the World Tournament and RagnarÖk, Ultio R gave Okhwang's physical power (which he had previously stolen) and the Original Greed to Yu Mira. Due to that, Sang Mandeok recognized her as the Jade Emperor's successor. In addition, she also received Gáe Bolg from Seo Han-Ryang, 27th Leader of National Assembly of the Homeless, and chosen by the five head 'family' to become the 28th Leader.
17 years after RagnarÖk, she becomes one of The Six and leader of Neo Nox, an amalgamation of the National Assembly of the Homeless and Sang Man-Duk's Nox faction. After the "Advent of Maitreya", Neo Nox dissolved and Yu Mira gave the physical power of the King to Han Daewi.
17 years after Park Mubong's death, Yu Mira lives a happy life with Han Daewi and works for the World Government now run by Park Ilpyo.
Appearance[]
Initially, Mira had reddish brown, shoulder-length hair and generally wore round spectacles. She was usually seen wearing a full-sleeved t-shirt along with a miniskirt during and outside of battles.[1] After the timeskip she grew out her hair to the point that it was waist length and wore a black shirt with a red skirt. During the World Tournament, Mira went back to her original hair style, and she wore a sleeveless shirt that exposed her midriff with a small black tie to go with it, dark-colored short shorts with two overlapping straps that held her many swords, dark grey tights and white gloves over her hands; by this point she had stopped wearing her spectacles. Seventeen years after the events of RagnarÖk, Mira's hair has turned white and her face and neck feature small scars from her fight with Ryu but her overall appearance remains the same. She wears an encompassing dark cloak over what appears to be her previous outfit one side is to cover her arm that she lost.
By her peers, family, and admirers, Mira is regarded as a beautiful young woman with a great body.
Personality[]
Initially, Yu Mi-Ra has a mixed personality and turned from a cute girl to a ruthless fighter as soon as she got in a battle. She also dated many strong guys before and even entered the GOH tournament to find a strong male. She is also very conscious about her sword and attacks anyone who touches it. Her personality has changed after meeting Jin Mo-Ri, who told her to protect her sword if she doesn't want to lose it rather than losing it first and then attacking people later. After receiving help from Mo-Ri and Dae-Wi on several occasions she appears to be getting closer to them with her eventually gaining feelings for Dae-Wi.
She is also quick to admit to her mistakes. While caring and loyal to her friends, Mi-ra is shown to be distrusting and suspicious of any and all strangers, being highly defensive but polite all the same. During her debut chapter, her friends regard to her as a pretty young lady with a decently high level of intelligence, testified with the fact that she is smart enough to be in the Top 100 of Korea.
Mi-Ra was a fiercely protective and ambitious friend, constantly defending her friends from active or preemptive danger. She tried defending Dae-Wi from potentially getting killed in the numerous G.O.H. competitions post losing his eye. Mi-Ra also was fully accepting of Mori Hui and tried to cheer him up even after knowing what could happen if the real one came. After her meeting with Ryu, she even adopts a crueller and more predatory personality that pushes her to improve her skills even further.
After her experimenting with R, Mi-Ra becomes a far more silent and deranged person. Under Mujin Park's tutelage, she has become an emotionlessly cruel killer with the body of the king and her past memories colliding to make a damaged psyche of loose memories. She now has a major saviour complex that gives her an apathy for her enemies and even herself, willing to obtain further power to "save" her allies.
History[]
When Yoo Mira was a child, she had been trained by her Father in the Yoo's Clan Moonlight Sword Arts for an unknown period of years before Mira's Father eventually teeters off and becomes insane, the reason for this being due to Yeo-po Bong-Seon's sword he valued so much that he became obsessed with it and lost sight of his family, resulting in the Yu family going into poverty.
On his deathbed, Mira's Father hands her his sword, telling her to revive the Moonlight Sword. During her Father's funeral, Mira sits with dry eyes while the funeral attendees gossip.
Yu Deuk-Chun, her uncle, tells Mira it is alright for kids like her to stray at times like those but Mi-ra tells him that she must stay strong like her Father's will told her to. Mi-ra is then sent to live with her uncle, Yu Deuk-Chun and her cousin, Yu Su-Mi. During elementary school, Mi-Ra is confronted with asking her Uncle about his participation for their School Sports Festival, but later decides not to ask as she sees how busy he is. That day, Mi-Ra eats lunch alone while all the other kids enjoy lunch with their families, but is surprised when her Uncle comes running in finding her in such a rush that he was still in his slippers. Years later, Mi-ra is dating one boy after another in a trial and error system of finding a qualified candidate to help her revive the Moonlight Sword.
