Humans are animals who can bring on nothing but destruction. On Earth only malicious viruses match the pattern of humans’ actions...
So you know what the world needs right now? A demon king, the ultimate evil to purge them all.

—Violet Ella Wong Perez, to Gang Daehyeop

Violet Ella Wong Perez is a Field Agent of Shadow and former Apostle of Nox.

Appearance[]

Violet is a beautiful woman with long violet hair and violet eyes. She is generally dressed in a pink shirt and a tight miniskirt, and when a member of Nox sometimes wore a brown robe over her clothes. After becoming a Shadow agent, she can be seen wearing the red company uniform and a Shield Suit.

Personality[]

Due to all the wickedness of mankind that she had witnessed during her impoverished childhood and their foul thoughts she had read ever since, Violet believed that humans are corrupt beyond salvation. When not acting friendly for the purposes of infiltration, she treated everyone with a cold demeanour, and would steal from people out of habit.

After she met Gang Daehyeop, her belief in humans being unalterably evil was shattered, prompting her to fall in love with him and adopt a more affable mindset, though this had brought her into a rivalry with Han Yewon. Her sense of morality however still has marked differences from many of Shadow’s members, and her standpoint helps her act as a liaison with individuals of an opposing side if needed.

History[]

Born in the slums of Manila to a Chinese father and a Pinoy mother addicted on drugs, Violet was forced to beg or steal in order to feed her baby brother, yet he still ended up dying. When she despaired at a statue of the Madonna, Violet was taught by a preaching Sang Mandeok that she should be wishing for punishment on those responsible instead, and received a baptism from him that awakened her Charyeok.

After she turned 15, Violet was sold into prostitution by her mother who subsequently used the money for heroin that killed her in an overdose, but Violet managed to escape in time. Living on the streets by stealing while avoiding people and all their foul thoughts when possible, Violet witnessed how humans both strong and weak were bringing on nothing but harm to others and destruction to the world while those few exceptions trying to do good never last long. She later tracked down Mandeok in order to join Nox which had advocated casting down the old world and establishing a new one, and after years of service during which she became an Elite Apostle, Violet was deployed to South Korea where she worked as a spy at the G.O.H. Tournament.

Plot[]

Eclipse[]

Heroes of Street[]

While working at the G.O.H. Tournament’s customer service department, Violet had received calls from Daehyeop protesting his not receiving invitations for the tournament. Later she left the G.O.H. Tournament to work as an administrative staff at the S International office, where her mission was to gather intelligence on Shadow.

When Daehyeop first arrived at Seoul, Violet pretended to help him find his way to COEX before making off with the piece of his luggage containing all his cash. Meeting Daehyeop again when he showed up for the interview with Shadow, Violet managed to squirm her way out of his probing about his luggage as she led him to the interview room. Later rendezvousing with her fellow Apostle Justin as well as a group of foreign extremists assigned to be her subordinates, Violet planned to strike during the final round of interviews which was a field operation targeting Yun Taesu, so that they can make off with information about Shadow and its inventions as well as assassinate Sin Yunseong, though in the meeting she had to discipline Justin for his insubordinate and lewd attitude.

While Yunseong took Yewon to the field operation site followed by Justin, Violet directed the looting of documents and computers from the S International office, but was seen by Daehyeop. Probing his thoughts after he forgave her for the theft, she discovered with surprise that his thoughts were pure. After Daehyeop was attacked and wounded by one of the extremists, Violet caught up with Justin who failed to kill Yunseong, and ordered all her subordinates to Taesu’s hideout where Yunseong was also heading for. They then witnessed the nightmarish bloodshed wrought by Taesu in the full glory of a demon king, so subsequent to Justin fleeing in panic, Violet ordered a retreat without waiting to see how Taesu’s battle with Daehyeop went, yet she then ran into Yunseong who had skinned Justin alive. Steal casting Yunseong’s magic spells to no avail and having all her extremist subordinates cut down by him, Violet managed through her wits and will to force Yunseong into shielding Yewon while she used the distraction to escape with Justin.

After Taesu was defeated, Violet used the confusion to replace him with the corpse of a police and take him to a Nox hideout. Although Mandeok forgave her for the setback suffered because Taesu was seen as a valuable asset, Violet was still jeered at by the other Elite Apostles for losing to ‘civilian Charyeok-Users’. In return, Violet with the aid of her new subordinate Ban Sihyeon lured them through inert National Treasures into robbing a Gyeongsangnam-do bank so that the responding Shadow agents can teach them a lesson. After the Elite Apostles were defeated, Violet sent Sihyeon away to clear an escape route through the police blockade, while she headed to the bank to face Daehyeop. She managed to give Daehyeop a beating by snatching his Charyeok to use against him, but soon her body began suffering under the strain, while her mentality got broken as the truth she had believed in about the good people among humanity doomed to die quickly crumbled before Daehyeop’s existence. Violet proceeded to use the discarded National Treasures that had responded to Daehyeop’s presence to attack him, but couldn’t bring herself to kill Daehyeop. So when Daehyeop held up the collapsing bank to save her, Violet made a heel faced turn as well as falling in love with him.

Driving Daehyeop back to Seoul while leaving a poor Eric Sin behind, Violet persuaded him to spend a night with her in a hotel, where she was spiritually reborn despite Daehyeop staying true to Seo Yuri, but she then ran into Justin and a band of Nox followers who had her taken back to the Nox hideout for betrayal and tortured. Following Justin’s departure because of Yamato’s arrival to South Korea, the Nox followers left behind started severing Violet’s fingers when Taesu who was freed by Sihyeon rescued her and preserved her severed fingers with ice. Violet was then brought to Seoul in time to witness Daehyeop and Sin Taepung fighting each other under the mind control of Sakura Yui, and managed to convince Taesu into saving the two Shadow agents.

Staying at the hospital following the reattachment of her fingers with the help of Judge S’s powers, Violet became determined to leave Nox and truly work for Shadow. She informed the Shadow members of the conspiracy she read from Yamato’s mind, which aimed to use mind control devices for turning people worldwide into an army of Marionettes so that he can wage a coup against Nox. Later on ‘D-Day’, Violet accompanied Taepung to Busan, where they took out the people turned into rampaging monstrocities to let Daehyeop go after Yamato. After throwing Daehyeop onto the hotel rooftop where Yamato was trying to helicopter away from, Violet was attacked by Hiro from whom she read his origins and the past of Yui before being knocked out. Taken as his hostage, Violet tried to convince him into quitting helping Yamato, and though unsuccessful she gave Daehyeop the insight to finally stop Hiro. Following the intervention of government forces, Violet was ordered sedated and taken away by Baek Yeonwoo when she began cursing at the government.

Violet afterwards joined Daehyeop in an attempt to visit the hospitalised Yunseong, only to be warned by Yewon and Yu Chiyeoung about Shadow becoming fugitives from the South Korean government for growing too strong. While the team took refuge in Eric’s home office, Violet convinced Taepung that they were too injured to help in the fight against Hajime Ryo and should stay put for the duration of that battle.

The Key[]

Abilities[]

Violet has some knowledge of fighting skills, but she is not physically superior and cannot stand against martial artists by her own, thus she relies on her enhanced wit as well as the Charyeok of others. In addition she can speak English and Tagalog.

Superhuman Will: Violet possesses a strong will, giving her enough powers of concentration to utilise Charyeok even after having the Injector used on her.

Charyeok[]

Mind Snatcher is the Charyeok of Violet. It allows her to steal things from people’s minds.

  • Thought Reading: Lets Violet read the minds of other people, though the thoughts able to be readily read are the fleeting ones, with the deep memories requiring more time and concentration to unlock. After rejoining Shadow, Violet refrains from using this ability on her fellow Shadow members.
  • Charyeok Snatching: Allows Violet to use the Charyeok of other Charyeok Users around her. If the user of the Charyeok is of a lower calibre than Violet, she can manifest the Charyeok to be stronger, but if the user is of a higher calibre than her, then Violet either cannot bring out the full potential as the original user, or have to suffer negative consequences to her mind and body. The snatched Charyeok also disappears midway if the original user loses consciousness for whatever reason or dies.

Weapon[]

Purple Snake[]
