Shadow, publicly known as S International, is a secret subsidiary of Sixsung Corporation that was founded by Jeon Jaesan for serving as another power alongside Park Mujin’s forces to combat Nox and other Charyeok-wielding criminals.

Shadow was initially seen by the South Korean government as a small company of private vigilantes useful for taking out petty Charyeok-wielding criminals who the regular authorities have no legal basis to tackle, and accordingly received generous governmental support. However after Shadow’s victories over powerful foes despite being crippled by Nine Dragons’ devastating attack on its headquarters, the government began seeing Shadow as a threat to its rule and started cracking down on it. Although later circumstances and negotiations forced the government to help Shadow rebuild, the two sides descended into a relationship of suspicion.

Location[]

S International, which serves as a front for Shadow, poses as a trading company headquartered in an eight-storey office building complete with an underground car park in Seoul’s business district. Most of the approximately 200 employees working there are none the wiser regarding the company’s true nature, but the few who have the clearance can unlock a fingerprint lock in the elevator for reaching a hidden floor between the 7th and 8th floors, where the interviewing facilities for Shadow are located.

The true headquarters for Shadow is a huge bunker dug deep beneath the Han River under some abandoned military bunkers, and was constructed through the combined efforts of Sixsung and South Korea’s Department of Defense. There are 4 regular entrances with fingerprint and retinal identifiers, one of them an elevator in Gongdan Station disguised as a cupboard for cleaning supplies, and once underground a capsule train system will transport people to and from the headquarters proper. In addition there is an emergency exit leading out to a wall marked by a cross in the basement of an affiliated security company situated near the south end of the Mapo Bridge. All of these entrances and exits are rigged with alarms, which will go off if unauthorised personnel are detected.
Within the headquarters proper are all sorts of rooms and machinery needed for Shadow’s operations, including offices for officers, workspaces for agents, control rooms for operators, laboratories for researchers and programmers, meeting halls, locker rooms, armouries, infirmaries, etc.

In addition, there are also backup computer servers situated inside an armoured cargo train sitting in one of the city’s train yards.

Members[]

Being a company that seeks to round up the unsanctioned Charyeok Users not participating in the G.O.H. Tournament, Shadow hires from the Charyeok Users who pass their employment interviews. In addition, people with distinguishing and useful talents are also hired as support personnel, since for the operations executed by the several Field Agents working for Shadow to be successful, there needs to be approximately 100 people performing the various supporting roles.
