Heroes of Street[]

Having received an interview invitation from Shadow, Yewon accepted as it was a chance to re-enter society. Deemed fit to pass the first round of interviews alongside Justin by Sin Yunseong, she became amazed at the prowess Daehyeop subsequently showed, and got emotional when he was dropped from the final round because of his friendship with the field operation’s target Yun Taesu. Yewon later put on a Shield Suit in preparation for the operation, but during the trip towards Taesu’s hideout in Yunseong’s car, the ‘Justin’ riding with them turned out to be a bomber doll that exploded at the real Justin’s command. Managing to shield herself and Yunseong from the blast, Yewon was told about Nox’s involvement. Continuing with the operation nevertheless, Yewon under Yunseong’s instructions discovered Daehyeop walking through the police blockade set up by Baek Yeonwoo around Taesu’s hideout, and after giving him her Shield Suit saw him off to battle. Returning to Yunseong’s side, Yewon witnessed how he single-handedly took out Justin and Violet as well as her subordinates, though she nearly got killed when Violet attacked her in order to create a distraction for escaping.

Having passed all the interview rounds, Yewon after spending time with Daehyeop and Yuri alongside other colleagues, got assigned to be an operator in Shadow’s secret headquarters, where she coordinated Eric Sin, Sin Taepung and Daehyeop’s operations against Charyeok-wielding criminals. When Eric invited his colleagues to a house party, Yewon dressed up in hopes of appealing to Daehyeop, only to find out that he wasn’t attending because he was spending a night with Violet, prompting her to give him a slap on the face the following day.

During Nine Dragons’ attack on the Shadow headquarters, Yewon shielded her colleagues including Johnson and Yu Chiyeoung from the Marionettes’ return fire as they provided covering fire for Daehyeop and Taesu who were holding back the horde so that Park Jinoh can find the escape route, despite her Charyeok already waning. Later hearing from Violet about Yamato intending to start a coup against Nox, Yewon utilised her knowledge of gaming to deduce Yamato’s intent on using the Dream Skulls to turn gamers worldwide into the army of Marionettes that he needs. She afterwards stayed in the backup facility made into a temporary headquarters to track Yamato’s location through satellite, and upon hearing about another special release event of Dream Skulls going on, Yewon discovered Yamato’s real goal of releasing them at the gaming convention held in BEXCO of Busan. As Daehyeop pursued Yamato from BEXCO, she gave him the directions to take as well as warn him of Hiro’s resurgent attacks.

When the South Korean government started seeing Shadow as a threat and sent military police to the temporary headquarters in order to arrest them, Yewon along with Chiyeoung slipped out as Jinoh let himself get arrested, and went to warn Daehyeop and Violet. Managing to get away with the help of Taesu, Yewon joined the others along with Taepung at Eric’s home office where they discussed the continued threat of the Dream Skulls found linked to the Ouroboros under Hajime Ryo’s control. She followed Daehyeop later that night when he headed back to the temporary headquarters for gear so that he can go fight Ryo alone without endangering his colleagues, and expressed her determination to accompany him to Japan. After Jinoh and Yunseong’s release due to the government needing their help against Ryo, Yewon was given the AI viruses programmed by Chiyeoung that were specifically tailored against the Dream Skulls and Ouroboros, with which she can make the choice of whether to take over or destroy the satellite-hacking program.

She subsequently joined Daehyeop and Yunseong in travelling to Nagoya, but then got forbidden by Daehyeop who went to fight Ryo from tagging along. Heading with Yunseong to Nine Dragons Hall, they soon got ambushed by hundreds of Marionettes, and Yunseong unable to fight because of his mental trauma instead let Yewon escape alone while he got captured. Yewon managed to make it to Nine Dragons Hall with Marionettes hot on her heels, and then into the control room housing the roots of the Yggdrasil and the captured Charyeok Users, where she inserted into the main computer the viruses for deactivating the Dream Skulls and destroying the Ouroboros. She was shocked when at that moment Daehyeop was smashed into the room bearing fatal wounds, so ignoring Ryo’s attacks Yewon shielded Daehyeop while expressing her love to him. This finally awakened her new Charyeok, with which she fully healed Daehyeop and let him defeat Ryo.

Following their return to South Korea, Yewon drove Yunseong around when he visited Jugok and Jaesan, then cheered him up as he despaired from being rejected by his pupil and disowned by his teacher.

The Key[]

Abilities[]

Instead of combat, Yewon’s skills are oriented for defense and support of others. Coupled with the societal knowledge and technical expertise she had gleaned from surfing the internet, Yewon has also a shrewd mind for analysis and deduction.

Charyeok[]

Han Yewon originally wielded an Unnamed Barrier Charyeok. It creates an invisible barrier centred around her, which is able to stop anything but gasses from going through. Since it is powered by her isolative mindset caused by withdrawal from society, when she started interacting with others more and more, the Charyeok became weaker and weaker until it finally fizzled out.

Guardian Angel is Han Yewon’s Charyeok after she fully opened her heart to Gang Daehyeop, manifesting her wish to protect those she holds dear.

  • Guardian Wings: Six pairs of huge wings sprout from Han Yewon’s back, allowing her to cover her vicinity in order to protect herself and those around her from harm.
  • Perfect Recovery: Allows Han Yewon to fully heal any damage suffered by the one person she loves.
