Before dying she predicted the arrival of the god Maitreya.

History[]
She was probably the oldest of all known deities, apparently having existed since the time of the dinosaurs (or even earlier). She lived on earth with Subhuti, an ancient god, and Ogre, Gaia's former guardian, until the gods of the Heavenly Realm descended on earth and killed Gaia. Before dying she predicted the arrival of the god Maitreya.
According to Beelzebub, she was killed and buried in a place that would later be known as India and the Sacred Land, which geographically is located in South Korea, just below the GOH stadium.
Gaia's death enraged Ogre, leading her to start a war against the gods, in the end the dragons ended up losing the war when they betrayed their leader. The gods exiled the dragons to the Sage Realm with the excuse that humans did not accept them, although some dragons remained hidden on earth.
Subhuti spent the next several years wandering and visiting Gaia's tomb (the place where she died), until she saw an egg hatch from her tomb and Sun Wukong was born. Remembering Gaia's last wishes, Subhuti began training and caring for the child that was born from her corpse. When Jecheondaeseong started and lost the first heavenly war, Subhuti saved the monsters' lives and Sun Wukong's when he became one of the Four Pillars of Fate to prevent Tathagata from killing them.
Somehow, his existence has managed to endure and affect the main events of history, through the prophecies he said before he died, his connection to the land, and his descendants, the so-called prophets like Tang Sanzang. Gaia was present when Sun Wukong murdered to Buddha.

After RagnarÖk ended and individuals possessing their own powers began to appear, a common ability they all had was power transfer, Mujin states that the reason they have it is because all Generation x members are descendants of Gaia. Although tathagata does not agree since although he has similarities with the prophets they are not.
Recently, Dan Mori has been called the Guardian of Gaia, as well as his murderer, a sinner, probably due to the fact that he devoured Tang Sanzang alive. Jin Mori seems to have some connection to Gaia, it is unknown if it is because he was born from her corpse or because he is the new guardian of Gaia.
Park Mubong used Kim Ungnyeo's corpse to summon Gaia and steal her heart using his new power and the energy of generation x to create the Promised Land while destroying the Earth. Uma also tried to stop the destruction of the Earth by summoning the spirit of Tang Sanzang, but ultimately failed.
Gaia's presence becomes most apparent during the final battle between Dan Mori and Park Mujin, when it is revealed that all the prophecies were connected to Gaia's prophecies, her presence is also felt when Jin Mori feels Gaia's pain as she sees planet earth being destroyed.
17 years after Mubong's death, Gaia chooses Park Tejin as Gaia's new guardian and Dan Mori, recognizing this, leaves her his Loop of Binding. This seems to be to fill the vacancy because Jin Mori became Maitreya.
