Summary[]
Sin Yunseong returns carrying a Park Jinoh tormented by the interrogation from the National Intelligence agents to his home that Gang Deahyop, Han Yewon and Yu Chiyeoung had moved the operating equipment from the cargo train to just as they are about to set out for Incheon Airport. Complaining about his home being intruded upon, Sin Yunseong ignores Han Yewon and Yu Chiyeoung who wonder what did Park Jinoh mean when he said they cannot witness their chief executive’s present state, and just drinks whiskey when Gang Daehyeop asks him about the other Shadow employees in the hospital.
Park Jinoh then informs them that the Blue House had already chartered a flight to Japan for them, while turning on Japanese news about the self-defense force mustering for an emergency drill in Nagoya, the site of a national emergency Charyeok incident concerning which the Japanese prime minister had appealled for aid from South Korea. As Yu Chiyeoung and Han Yewon are outraged by the South Korean government’s shameless fickleness, Gang Daehyeop declares he will go to Japan. Then Sin Yunseong who grabs some new wand swords takes Gang Daehyeop up to the rooftop training area, where after pointing out Gang Daehyeop’s inefficiency during his fight with Hiro challenges him to a duel.
At a train station near Tokyo’s Harumi Futo Terminal, Eric Sin and Vincent draw the attention of many passerbys, especially Eric who has trouble responding to female high school students’ inquiries in Japanese. Then they notice a commotion as people had to debark trains because service to Nagoya is halted, at which Vincent states that things have started earlier than they anticipated.
Sin Yunseong wields the flexible aluminum sword like a whip to relentlessly slash at Gang Daehyeop, and when Gang Daehyeop punches out to make some distance he instead uses a sword-drawing technique with a rigid titanium sword to score a neck cut. Realising how unlike during the interview Sin Yunseong is now deadly serious, Gang Daehyeop gets told he is feeling the difference between battles where his life is on the line and not. Citing that Gang Daehyeop survived the battles against Yun Taesu, Hiro and the Marionettes thanks to luck, Sin Yunseong projects images of himself and hastens his movements, before pointing out that Gang Daehyeop’s refusal to kill not only will be jeered at by his enemies but also restricts his power, resulting in him either collapsing into despair once he accidentally kills someone or painfully dying by the hands of a stronger adversary. Declaring his intent to save Gang Daehyeop from such a fate by killing him now, Sin Yunseong enhances his strength before dealing out a killing slash.
Faced with imminent death, Gang Daehyeop flashes back to his encounters with Yun Taesu, Sakura Yui, the Marionettes and Hiro while pondering where had he done wrong. He then realises had he not held back due to pride and hesitation when he first fought Hiro but resolutely took him out then and there so that he can quickly capture Yamato, he would have been able to save the woman who got shot dead and the people who got turned into monstrosities. The weight of how his concern with the lives of evil villains ended up dooming many innocents sinking in, Gang Daehyeop’s aura explodes before he punches out to break the sword and send Sin Yunseong flying. After Gang Daehyeop expresses that he now understands, the fallen Sin Yunseong who survived the Charyeok-infused punch thanks to the control Gang Daehyeop exacted over his unbridled power tells him that as long as he fights while believing in himself then he will not lose to anyone. When the other Shadow employees rush upstairs, Sin Yunseong says it will only take seconds for Gang Daehyeop to reach Japan.
Nagoya enters a lockdown as the self-defense force musters in preparation for a possible war between Nine Dragons and Yamaguchi-gumi, though unbesknown to the public the authorities are mobilising solely because of Hajime Ryo, who after 7 years is anticipating the main dish upon the bloody altar in which he absorbs all Charyeok Users and becomes the boss of the world to whom everybody on the planet bends knee at.
