Summary[]
On one snowly night when Sakura Yui was 10 years old, as her father left her bed after finishing his business with her, she noticed a little boy sitting naked outside her house who called himself Hiro. Feeling his touch being different from other men as he wiped with this frozen hands the tears from her face, Sakura Yui gave him the jumper she was wearing that has a knight on a white horse embroided on it. Noticing his crotch is neither male nor female, Sakura Yui expressed that she was teased by other children for being ugly, before offering food to Hiro whom she thought was handsome like a manga protagonist.
In order to keep Hiro hidden in her room, Sakura Yui decided to drop out of school, to the delight of her father and the other men who frequented her room, though Hiro always managed to stay out of their sight. Thus Sakura Yui spent the rest of her childhood in her room, where she engrossed herself in fantasy books full of beautiful and kind people in a world of castles and woods and magical creatures, with stories about dragons and towers and princesses being her favourite. She then started dreaming of a heroic knight looking like Hiro arriving to rescue her from her room, and cuddles him to sleep every night.
With the awakening of her Charyeok that also cursed her, by the time she is 14 years old, Sakura Yui had reduced her father and the other men to ‘dogs’ being tethered naked outside, attracting the attention of a then-slim Yamato. Identifying himself as a scientist researching Charyeok, Yamato asks for Sakura Yui to assist him. Yet Sakura Yui refused and sent her famished ‘dogs’ to tear the underlings escorting Yamato apart, until only Hajime Ryo who had shielded Yamato was left. Promising to make Hajime Ryo the boss of Nine Dragons should they survive, Yamato offered to pay her a fortune as well as remove her Charyeok. As Sakura Yui realised that Yamato had beforehand investigated all her failed suicide attempts, Yamato revealed he has contacts in the pornography industry who will keep Sakura Yui fed while his powers as a yakuza can cover up any unfortunate incidents. From that day onwards, Sakura Yui began reshaping her face using pegs and pillows, and became indebted to Yamato until his research is completed so that she no longer has to regularly feed on men.
After filming her first pornographic work where she got herself well fed in preparation for Yamato’s experimentation on the following day, Sakura Yui became aware of how low she had fallen, even as she used the money from her first job to buy a gift for Hiro. Leading him to a car park, she presented him the Lotus C-01 prototype super motorcycle she had obtained through Yamato’s contacts. As they mounted the motorcycle to go cruising, semen began leaking from under Sakura Yui onto the seat, and when Hiro took out a handkerchief to wipe it, she told him to lick it clean, before venting all her fury pent up during the filiming onto him with violence. Yet seeing Hiro still caring for her, Sakura Yui realised how fragile she was, so she spent the rest of the day in the car park listening to music with him caressing her like in a fantasy world.
The following day when she was about to step onto the experimentation slab situated in the Kyoto branch of Nox, she caught sight of Abel who approached Yamato’s laboratory. Calling himself a Key Finder, Abel told Sakura Yui she is actually a Prayer Awakener, and explained that while Charyeok manifests through wishes and prayers, her ability is more like the legendary Prayer Awakening, through which she generated Hiro out of her wish for a hero to come rescue her. As Sakura Yui reluctant to hear more pondered killing him, Yamato arrived grumbling about Abel poking into his business. Abel then warned Yamato that he wasn’t seeing the whole picture of the upper tier of Charyeok that is Prayer Awakening, and that Sakura Yui if driven over the edge will go on a rampage. A vexed Yamato though dismissed it as the superstitions of the likes of Sang Mandeok, and after being threatened Abel who had been branded as a renegade took leave to continue searching for the Key.
While lying down on the experimentation slab surrounded by machines as the experiment began, Sakura Yui mused over Hiro being a figment of her imagination even though he was beside her. When Hiro reached for her hand, Sakura Yui fell into a peaceful fantasy realm where they were walking through storms and blizzards away from the real world that is full of destruction and horror, with him really existing as her hero, all the while vaguely aware of the experiment going very wrong as people horrified at her got killed and the building got destroyed.
