Summary[]

The Sin brothers lead Gang Daehyeop and Han Yewon to an elevator disguised as a toilet cupboard, where they enter a secret subway used for Sixsung’s covert operations that is even deeper and more concealed than the ones unbeknown to the public underneath Seoul for evacuations of vital politicians and businessmen. Explaining that the real Shadow headquarters they are heading to is actually located under the Han River where it is protected by the Department of Defense, Eric Sin says he isn’t bothered by being left behind in the battle against Yun Taesu. The party then debarks the speeding capsule train into a welcoming shower of champagne headed by Sin Yunseong and other key employees, among whom Han Yewon identifies Charles Salim, Han Samyeoung, Johnson, Esna, Park Gwonhwe and Yu Chiyeoung.

Sin Yunseong starts a founding ceremony speech, announcing that the government had unofficially acknowledged Shadow, before listing a number of crimes committed by unidentified Charyeok Users who caused casualties to the police. Yu Chiyeoung pipes up to question what purpose does Shadow serve by playing superhero, and Sin Yunseong explains that with the G.O.H. Tournament making the knowledge of Charyeok’s existence public, it falls to Shadow to prevent chaos from breaking out even if they may harm civilians. Then Yu Chiyeoung asks why should civilians like them instead of the authorities put their lives at risk, to which Sin Yunseong states nobody present had signed up simply for the astronomical salary. He goes on to admit that he actually doesn’t want to do this job, but despite longing to quit for a luxurious retirement, he has to continue this work because nobody else can, earning everybody’s applause.

Continuing where he left off, Sin Yunseong asserts that the suspects of the crimes listed mostly perpetrate alone, and recommends assigning two agents to each case. As Park Jinoh activates a slide presentation showing the world map, various pictures and charts, Sin Yunseong elaborates that their operations are classified into two broad categories, namely eliminating Charyeok Users like Yun Taesu who commit evil and fighting Nox, yet since Shadow is still too weak they will try to avoid frontal confrontations with Nox that Park Mujin’s forces are more equipped to handle. After giving the order not to engage Nox unless the world is overturned, Sin Yunseong brings up the topic of the next Charyeok Users to target.

As part of Nox’s mission to purge anything connected to Park Mujin and his tournament that aims to find the Key, on the night after the Gangwon-do Regionals were over, the player killers Fei-Long and Cao-Yuan attacked the presiding G.O.H. judge, with Fei-Long complaining that he was as disappointing as the one they killed in Chungcheongnam-do.  When the non-combatant Judge muttered about the combatant Judges of Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do, Fei-Long whined that after Chungcheongnam-do he came to Gangwon-do in anticipation of a real challenge against Gang Daehyeop, only to find that none of the regional participants were Charyeok Users.  Further beating up the judge who stammered there was no such participant in the same manner he did with the Gangwon-do winner, Fei-Long was called to stop by Caoyuan, who pointed out Judges are for Priests to deal with.  As they headed for Jeju Island, Cao-Yuan stated that he planned to impersonate the Jeju winner Na Hanseong.

On the same night, Judge T finally led Drake McDonald who he had been fighting since daytime to a mountainside outside Seoul where no civilians would get hurt. He then proceeded to weave through McDonald’s wild swings and slash out with his cane sword, only to detect McDonald sewing up the wounds. In response Judge T dealt out skillful attacks aimed to cut McDonald apart, and unaffected by the dirt McDonald kicked up he evaluated that this healing Charyeok is only effective in battles alongside teammates. Being at a disadvantage, McDonald started threatening Judge T’s wife and child to throw his mind into turmoil, then ignoring the cut made to his neck hacked off Judge T’s leg and arm. Laughing at Judge T’s plight as he sewed himself back together, McDonald proceeded to chop him into pieces.
