Heroes of Street[]

Before the operation against Yun Taesu, Yeonwoo was given vague briefings by his superiors to merely surround and observe the abandoned apartment complex where the serial murderer made his hideout so that the Shadow agents can come take him out. Vexed that his superiors were having the police stand around while civilians come in to do their job, Yeonwoo arbitrarily ordered his men into the hideout, only to have them viciously slaughtered by shark teeth bursting from inside them. Realising that they were up against a Charyeok User who was pinpointing their positions from afar through CCTV, Yeonwoo ordered the cameras shot out as they retreated. After a heated argument with his superiors over the disaster, Gang Daehyeop arrived on scene, whom Yeonwoo allowed through. Later as the apartment buildings collapsed from the battle, more police got killed by Taesu in a grotesque display of gore, prompting Yeonwoo in a fit of fury to shoot and wound Taesu. Despite getting pierced in his abdomen by teeth, Yeonwoo still managed to stay up, so when Sin Taepung launched a ball of hurricane, Yeonwoo distracted Taesu by shining a torch in his eyes and ensured that he received a direct hit.

Yeonwoo discovered during hospitalisation that instead of him getting fired and court-martialed, the superintendent general had take responsibility and resigned, and through the machinations of Sin Yunseong he was going to be put in charge of the Charyeok Response Special Taskforce that would be aiding Shadow against Charyeok-wielding criminals. In the days since he led the taskforce to help Eric Sin with his operation, and was also on scene when dealing with the bank robbery perpetrated by the fellow Elite Apostles of Violet Ella Wong Perez, though upon Eric’s orders he had to lift the police blockade and let the Nox followers escape.

In response to Yamato’s conspiracy of distributing Dream Skulls that will turn people worldwide into Marionettes, Yeonwoo collaborated with Park Jinoh to have all manners of forces surround the Nine Dragon Games sales event at COEX on ‘D-Day’. After Han Yewon deduced that Yamato’s real aim was to release the Dream Skulls in Busan, Yeonwoo received orders from the South Korean president to capture Yamato alive. He thus took a helicopter to Busan, where he reluctantly worked with the 404 Special Services Squad to subdue Hiro and apprehend Yamato while treating Daehyeop who just battled the pair as a threat. As Yeonwoo got into a dispute with Daehyeop as he tried to find a balance between the orders received and his disgust at them, Yamato took the distraction to slip away, though following throwing Hiro away at the ghost’s request, Daehyeop still managed to recaptured Yamato.

In charge of interrogating Yamato later on, Yeonwoo realised that the government was planning to let Yamato, who had murderered in cold blood many civilians during his escape attempt, off the hook if he would work for them, so proceeded to kill the mad scientist before they could do so, only to be knocked out by Axley Ivanovic. When the government discovered Yamato got busted out, Yeonwoo was arrested on charges of treason, though he was released after the government needed Shadow’s help to fight Hajime Ryo.
